Our Executive Director, Helen Wilcox was a key member of a steering group helping the Home Care Sector prepare for the Care Act that came into force in April 2015.

As Vice Chair of Skills For Care, she was interviewed in the Spring 2015 issue of their publication, ‘Care Magazine’.

In her interview, she talks about the challenges and opportunities the new act presents to Home Care businesses, saying that the new act is “an opportunity to show that people can access quality services where social care, health and communities can work together.”

Skills for Care is the employer-led workforce development body for adult social care in England. At Woodford, we’re passionate about the importance of training and development both within our own organisation and in the care sector generally. We know that a skilled workforce, supported in their continued training and development, is key to providing person-centred care – and we’re proud that our Executive Director is at the forefront of skills development in the Care Sector both regionally and nationally.
